St Joseph's PS Crumlin

St Joseph's PS Joined us directly after the Easter holidays, filled with springlike enthusiasm.
Monday 8th April
Focus
We made a face for our focus to show happiness and it was in our agreement to have fun! To show people its good to be happy.
Music
Our first song 'Read All About It' is all about standing out and not changing yourself for anyone, because God wouldn't want us to do that.
Our next song 'Firework' means, never put yourself down, because God wouldn't want us to. He made us to be the way we are.
Scripture
Matthew (5:14-16), means you have to shine your light for everyone to see, by doing things people would like and be kind.

Reflection

Tuesday 9th April
 Focus
At our Service of Light, we received the lighted candle, that's why we chose the candle for our focus, as its light was passed on to us at Baptism.
 Music
'Read All About It' tells you to be yourself and don't be afraid to speak out. God made you to be yourself and not care about anyone thinks about you.
In the 'Man In The Mirror', he's telling himself to change and we can try to change the things we aren't happy about in ourselves.

Scripture
Matthew (5 14-16),the meaning of this passage is you are the light and you have to shine. Try your best to thank God for giving you that special way to shine.
Prayers
 Dear Father
Give us protection and look over me
and everyone also in the world.
Help us when we are hurt and watch over us when in pain.
Amen

Dear Father
Help all the poor people, give them more money.
Help them with any loss.
Help them with any illness.
Amen
 Dear Father
We thank you for caring for the elderly who have lost their husband or wife
and cannot take care of themselves.
Thank you for day care for the elderly.
Amen

Dear Father
We pray for the people who are homeless,
who sleep in the streets and cannot pay for food or drink.
May we all help these people,
may they have a roof over their head with heating and working lights.
Amen

Dear God
Thank you for our homes and our families.
Thank you God for the food we eat
and the beds we sleep on
and for helping the sick and homeless.
Thank you for our brothers and sisters,
the mums and dads who help us and teach us and give their time for us.
Amen
 Reflection
Friday 12th April
Focus
We made a picture of someone skipping in the sun. It represents all the people who were having fun. The hands represent us doing God's work.
Music
We chose 'Read All About It' by Emilie Sande. It tells us to be ourselves and shine our light, Because that's who we are and we don't care about what people think about us.
We also picked 'Next To Me' because you will only find |God next to you, nowhere else.
Prayers

Reflection
We chose the title 'Let Your Light Shine'. Fire is the symbol of Christ and fire is light. We have the Holy Spirit in us so we spread it around and shine our light.

Thursday 18th April
Focus
We did a picture of a sunny day because it represents the day we've had today. The river represents where we cool down and have picnics. The hands represent showers and the kites represent children playing with their kites.
Music
We chose 'Read All About It' because it reminds us to be yourself and your words could save a nation. Next we picked 'What A Wonderful World' because we are lucky to have this world and live in this wonderful world.
Scripture
Matthew (5:14-16), in this scripture, God tells us that we have to shine our light by how we treat each other.

Prayers

Reflection
We picked the title'Shine Your Light' because we learnt how to shine our light today. We can shine our light by helping others, respecting others and giving to charity.
