St. Rose's, Year 9

We had the Year 9 girls from St. Rose's in recently and we had a great time talking about God and faith. We also took time to look at our own attitudes to the people in our families, our circle of friends, our communities and society in general.  Our attitudes don't just affect us as individuals, but anyone we come into contact with.  Each girl made a box to put some challenges in.  We call it a BEatittude box, because it contains attitudes we are going to try to have.  The idea is to chose one challenge from the box each day and to try to do that particular thing that day.  What challenges would you set for yourself to make life easier for those around you??????

As always, the groups organised their own Prayer Services at the end of the days.  You can read some of their prayers and reflections below...

Dear God,
We pray for everybody who needs help in this world.
Guide them with hope and keep them safe.
Also, bless my uncle Patrick who died recently.
Lord hear us...

Dear God,
I pray for the elderly.
Help them to be safe and well,
especially as the winter is coming.
Help them not to fall or become ill.
Amen

Dear God,
Please bless my Granny who was in a bus crash recently,
and for my aunt and her newborn baby.
Thank you for my family and friends
and for the lovely world you gave us.
Amen

Dear God,
Thank You for our school, friends and family.
Please keep us safe and guide us through a happy future.
Lord, bless those who have lost someone close to them.
Amen

Dear God,
Will You keep my baby brother safe as he has measles.
Bless my Mummy because she is sad because my Granny is sick.
Keep my class nad all my family safe.
Amen

Dear God,
Bless all those who have cancer.
Amen

One of the groups chose Matthew 8:22-25 for their Reading, because it shows that Jesus can calm the storms in our lives.

One of the groups chose Matthew 5:14-16, because it shows that it is up to each one of us to let our light shine.

The music chosen by the groups was:

Survivor by Destiny's Child, because it shows that even when we are hurt by people we can be strong and forgiving.

You Raise Me Up by Josh Groban, because it shows that we are down our friends can raise us up.

Heal the World by Michael Jackson, because it shows that we can make the world better by being good and helping others.

Reach for the Stars by S Club 7, because it shows that if we try our best we can achieve so much.

We reallly enjoyed our two days with the girls from St. Rose's and we wish them every blessing as they continue on life's path.
