Our Lady of Mercy Girls' School Yr 12

It was great to work with the girls from Our Lady of Mercy. We had the opportunity to talk about how important it is to have a good self image and how we see God in our lives.
Focus
We wrote 12M to represent our class.
The sky is to show God is always with us and to represent heaven because when we were younger we would look up to the sky and think it was heaven. The sun is for the light of our love.
The heart is to represent the love in our class and to show our everlasting friendship.

Music
True Colours - we chose this because we have been with each other for five years and we now know each other so well that we know each other's colours and we are starting to realise who they really are after spending so much time together.
Man in the Mirror - we have chosen this song as we need to realise that we are growing up and we don't really have anyone to tell us what to do in our life from now on.
We need to look at ourselves and change for the better.

Scripture
Luke 10 , The Good Samaritan - We chose this because it shows that if we don't get along with someone or have a prejudice against them, we need to see past that and we need to see them as a human being in need. No matter what has happened in the past; a week, a month or a year ago, we only have 2 months left. Make the most of it!

Dear God
I ask you to help people in the world
who have to watch someone in their family
suffering from diseases such as cancer.
Thank you God
Lord Hear us

Dear God
Please help the homeless people all around the world
Lord hear us

Dear God
We pray for all the sick people
Lord hear us

Poster
Our theme today is friendship. We have chosen Friendship because today we have reflected on the people we care for and love and over the past 5 years everyone has developed close friendships.
The different colours on the poster symbolise the different personalities and people in our year group.

Focus
We made this as a focus because in a few months we won't be 12L anymore and we might not see each other again after this school year.

Music
You've Got a Friend in Me because this is our last year together and our class are all friends.
Iris by Goo Goo Dolls because everyone is the same and you don't have to hide who you are.
BE YOURSELF.

Scripture
Lk 15 - The Prodigal Son. We chose this because it is all about forgiving and love. No matter what anyone has done we should love them unconditionally.

We chose FRIENDS for our poster because we are all friends and we enjoyed today

Work Experience

Last week we welcomed a Year 13 student from Aquinas Grammar School for work experience.  We all enjoyed having her, she was a great addition to our community of team members, house staff and De La Salle Brothers. We wish her every blessing in the future and hope our paths cross again. Well done Kathleen.

St Luke's Primary School

We enjoyed two lovely days with the young people of St Luke's Primary School. Together we had the opportunity to talk about the challenges of being Christian and how we can create something beautiful like a rainbow, when we work together as a team.

Focus
We really tried to make a real eye opener. We made this because the wind is God's breath and the kites are the symbol of the wind blowing the kites in the sky. The roses are a sign of God's nature. The hands are made by all of us.

Music
We picked Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson because it said to make a change and in confirmation we can make a change to be better Christians.
We picked Shine by Take That because we were talking about how to shine our light.

Poster
We chose Follow Jesus for our poster because when we follow Jesus we become better people and learn right from wrong. When the hands are joined onto the poster it will mean choosing to help others for Jesus.

25th Fefruary

Focus
We made this because the cross is a sign of Jesus and the kites show the wind.

Music
We picked Castles in the Sky because it says, Do you ever question your life? We are here and we are Christians and are we doing anything about it?
We chose You've Got a Friend in Me because if we are ever lonely you always have Jesus to turn to and we have a friend.

Poster
We chose Helping Hands because Jesus is in us and he wants us to use our hands in the right way. The hands on our poster show everybody in the world and they can make a difference in the world.

St Patrick's Primary School

We had a wonderful day with the pupils of St Patrick's Primary School, Holywood. It was a pleasure working with them and talking about how we can take our faith seriously by helping others and letting our light shine.

Focus
We chose the sun because it's burning like the Holy Spirit.
The kites only fly if God is breathing which is life.
The hands represent the rays of the sun.
Music
Shine by Take That  - we picked this song because it's about expressing yourself. Each of us have a light inside us and we need to let everyone see it.
Man in the Mirror by Michael Jackson - we picked this song because we can make a change  and we can make a difference and feel good about ourselves.

Poster
We chose to use helping hands for our poster because each hand is one of us and we're chosing to be confirmed meaning we are chosing to help others.
A great big thank you for your lovely thank you letters. We loved receiving them. You are definately letting your light shine.
