St Colman's Primary School, Lisburn

The girls and boys from Lambeg came to us following their Confirmation. Filled with the Holy Spirit they engaged in discussion, exploring the meaning of the newly received sacrament. They also managed to fit in a bit of skipping and football to ward off the chill weather.

Focus
Our focus shows that the Holy Spirit always protects us no matter what. The symbols of the Holy Spirit are the flame, the dove and the wind. We showed the wind as a boat. The Holy Spirit also gives us strength to carry on.

Music
For our first song we chose 'One love'- Bob Marley, when we are working together we feel we're helping each other. We then picked 'You've Got A Friend In Me', we've always got a friend in the goodness of each other, to help us in difficult times.
Scripture
Matthew (5:14-16) means that we should shine our light and it should not be covered, it should be left out for everyone to see.

Prayers

Reflection
We chose the title 'The Hands of God' as our hands represent us. On them is written how we can be more helpful and caring towards others.

Focus
Our rainbow represents the peace and calmness in the world, because of the vibrant colours of God's creation that represent our personalities.
Music
We picked 'Firework' because God explodes his love to us and 'Shine' as God's love shines in us.
Prayers

Reflection
We chose the title 'Shine Your Light' as we feel we can shine our lights to see God in each other.

Good Shepherd Primary School, Poleglass

Good Shepherd pupils joined us having made their Confirmation earlier in the month. They braved the severe wind chill factors to play football and skipping.

Focus
We made the world because we live in it and its up to us to take care of it.

Music
The songs chosen  were 'Shine'-Take That and 'Next to Me'-Emeli Sande. While the sound system was out of action and selecting the songs was not so easily done, the music group agreed that these songs reflected the theme of the day of letting our light shine and knowing that Jesus is always close to us.

 Scripture
In Matthew 5:14-16, which is about being a light for everyone, means not to waste your talents.

  Prayers

Reflection
We picked the 'Dream Team' title because God thinks that we're the best and we think he's the best. We also picked three symbols because they're symbols of the Holy Spirit.

Focus
For our focus we used the flame as a symbol of the Holy Spirit. We are the light of the world, so as true Christians we must shine our light.
Music
For our first song, we chose 'Let It Be'. We used this song for our assembly. It helped us to remember if you are fighting you can 'let it be'.
We also chose Bob Marley's 'One Love', God can be your one love if you put God first.
Scripture
We used Matthew 5:14-16 which we had heard in meditation. We'll let our goodness shine for everyone.

Reflection
We picked the 'Dream Team' title because most of the saints had dreams of God. We picked symbols of the Holy Spirit- fire, wind and a dove.
