Focus:
Using the cloth we have made the sun and the earth. We have framed a poster with boxes. The scene represents creation, how God created everything and everyone.
The poster and the boxes represent everyone and how everyone is special to the Lord. We also put in a peace symbol to show that the hope of the universe is peace.
Music:
We chose Praise you because we felt it was about God.
For our second song we picked You've got a friend in me for the simple reason that we are all getting spilt up next year.
Scripture:
From the bible we picked a story that talked about not judging others (Luke 6:37). We chose this because it carries an important message and that, as we have learned so much about each other, we now know that judging is wrong.
Prayers:
Dear God,
Help the poor to get a foothold in life
and help us not to take for granted what we have
Lord hear us.
Dear God
Forgive those who have sinned and lead us not into temptation
and help us all to live better lives
Lord hear us
Dear God
Please help the homeless, help them get a home
where they can be safe
Lord hear us
Dear God
Help the people who are sick or in need of help.
Make sure they get better soon, and for those who have
left us may they stay by your side. Amen
Lord hear us
Reflection:
Focus:
We are using a heart as our focus today because we feel love has been the focus on our retreat.
God is love and this is why we have created a heart with God written inside it.
Music:
This is Florence and the machine with You've got the love. We chose this because God has the love to see me through.
We chose Stand by me as our last song as we will all stand together as a class and God will stand by us as well.
Scripture:
We acted out a scene from the bible, The calming of the storm (Mark 4:35-41) because this is the story our class is learning about in depth at the moment and we have all had time were we felt afraid and needed Gods help.
Prayers:
Dear God
We pray for our class that we will be successful
in the future but also happy and healthy.
Thank you God for the fantastic three years
we've had in Aquinas and thank you for Miss McAnulty
and Mr Finnegan who have made our school life fantastic.
Amen
Dear God
Help everyone in their studies and exams and
thank you for everything we have already achieved
Amen
Dear God
We pray for the elderly and the infirm that they receive
the care and support they need, and that those who care
for them are given the praise they deserve
Amen
Dear Lord
We pray for those who are finding life hard from the
loss of a family member or friend, and hope they receive
all the support and comfort they need.
We also pray for all the deceased and grant them eternal rest
Amen
Dear Lord
Guide people who are ill and need help at this tough time,
help them make a full recovery. Also pray for their families
and give them strength and support
Amen
Dear God
Pray for those who are in need of clean water and food and that
people will give generously to those who need it most
Amen
We made this focus to represent our faith in the class. The boxes around the focus represents each person here today.
Music:
You've got the love - We picked this song because it was a song written about God and when we listen to the words it gives us comfort when we are feeling down.
Scripture:
We chose the Good Samaritan because this parable is a good example of how we should care for others. Courage is doing right when everyone around you is doing wrong.
Prayers:
Dear God
Please let us remember those who are poor and
suffering in the world. Also those who are unfortunate
and do not have as much as we do.
We also want to pray for those who are under-privileged
and who suffer in poverty.
Amen
Dear God
Let us remember those that aren't with us 2day.
We all know people and families that have lost a loved one,
Let us remember them in our prayers and wish the best for those who
have lost someone they know.
Amen
Dear God
Let us remember those who are ill and dying
and let them receive the help they and their families need.
Amen
Dear God
Let us thank the staff for creating a day that will always be
remembered in our hearts.
Amen
Reflection:
A day to reflect, to understand
peaceful together hand and hand
expressing ourselves long to be closer to God
voicing opinions in agreement we nod
Silent prayer get to know each other
peaceful serenity sister to brother
forget our worries, enjoy the peace
Its a time to be with friends and just release
wether you believe or you'd rather not,
express your opinion any knowledge you've got.
We made our design 'day and night' because God is with you all the time. The candles represent each person in God's world.
The seats are set out in a circle so you can see everyone because everyone is equal
Music:
You've got the love - We have been talking about how God is love and how we need to love everyone.
Next to me - Reminds us that God is always with us.
Scripture:
We picked the Good Samaritan as our peice of scripture because it shows us how we need to love one another.
Prayer:
Dear God
We pray that together as year 10's we remember all the memories of the past 3 years.
Amen
Dear God
We pray that you will guide us throughout the GCSE process,
please give us the strength to study and the strength to ignore
tempations and distractions that may come our way.
We pray that you make our next two years as happy
as our last three.
Amen
Dear God
May we pray for all of the sick and all who need help and support.
Amen
Reflection:
We made this poster because it reflects what we have learnt throughout today
on the poster we have written:
Reflection, God, Love , Mediation, Joy, Peace, Soothing and Relaxing.
Soothing and relaxing is about the mediation.
Reflection was what we had to do to make the poster.
God, for what we have learnt about him.
Love, joy and peace
is for what we experienced on this retreat today.

I was on the retreat as part of the Aquinas group and really enjoyed the retreat. It was a great experience and was great to take a break from all the stresses of school and spend some reflective time with friends.
Thanks Again
