Our Lady's Girls' Primary School, Belfast

Girls from north Belfast delighted us with details of their extra curricular activities of jujutsu, gaelic football and Irish dancing, we wish you the best of luck in all your competitions.
Wednesday 20th February
Focus
We chose this focus because it represents all the colours that God made, as he made the world bright and not just dull, it shows a sunset. The sky is blue, the orange and red are the sun, the grass green and the dark blue the sea.
 Music
We chose 'You Got a Friend In Me' because God is not just our father, he is also a friend, a friend you can talk to through prayer. We have to be a friend to other people just like God.
Our other song was 'Hero', because when you're down, God is always by your side through anything and so we should stand by people too.
Scripture
Our scripture was taken from Matthew (5:14-16) telling us we must let our light shine so that others can see goodness in us.
 Prayers
Jesus in our skies above
Looking down with all his love
Forgiving bad and praising good,
Let Jesus see you as he should
Jesus and his sacred heart
Our Christian love sets us apart.
Jesus in our church today
Jesus in our hearts we pray.
Jesus in everything we do
Jesus loves me and Jesus loves you.
Jesus is everything we know
Always there to help and show.
Amen

Dear Father
Please help all the poor and the sick people
that are suffering from diseases
that you can't get rid of like cancer.
Please God help us to get rid of it.
Amen

Dear Father
You bring us the sweet symphonies of joy and love,
you bring the music of the Lord
you bring us happiness in songs.
Please God love us forever.
Amen
Dear Father
Thank you for bringing my family to this town.
Amen

Dear Father
Please help everyone's sponsor
to lead us children in the right ways of God
and pass on the Christian faith.
Amen

Dear Father
Please help all who don't have much,
who don't have money or anything as such.
Help those who have no home,
those who have no friends,
and those who are sick.
Amen
 Reflection
We chose the title 'Shine Our Light' because the Spirit shines the light on us and we will shine that light on others.
 Thursday 21st February
Focus
In our focus we are the kites, creations of God who made us. The materials represent us, we are all important in different ways, like the cord makes the kite fly and the material catches the wind. We are God's kites and the breeze represents the Holy Spirit.
Music
We chose 'Read All About It' as it reminded us of our meditation. It says '...you got the light to fight the shadows so stop hiding it away', we've to shine our light too.
We also picked  'Next To Me', as its about God with us.
Scripture
The scripture Matthew (5:14-16) is about showing our goodness to others.

Prayers

Reflection
We picked the title 'Dream Team' because we thought that you should follow your dreams.

St Michael's Primary School, Ravenhill Road, Belfast

St Michael's first P7 class joined us just as the snows fell causing their fellow P7s to postpone their visit to May. All enjoyed their day.
Wednesday 21st March 2013
 Focus
The first part is a daytime scene and the kites are being blown. The kites represent us and we are being blown by the wind of the Holy Spirit and the sun represents God guiding us.
In the second part each star at night represents a person. They will still shine even in the darkest of nights. The moon represents God.

Music
We chose 'Don't Stop Me Now', for if you shoot for the moon, you might get the stars, don't let people stop you. We also picked 'You've Got A Friend In Me', God is our friend so we should make other people our friend.

Scripture
Matthew (2:14-16) this piece of scripture tells to shine our light for others, in other words, don't hide your talent.
Prayers

 Reflection
We chose the title 'We Are God's Hands' because God does his work through our hands.
Tuesday 7th May
Focus
This flame represents the Holy Spirit, that there will always be hope and that everyone SHINES BRIGHTLY !

Music
We chose 'Let It Shine' because it has a happy effect on people and it is very positive.

Prayers

Reflection
The reason we chose 'The Hands of God' was because God shows goodness through us and we are here to show this goodness to other people.
