St James' PS

The boys and girls from St James' PS Whiteabbey joined us on a chilly wintry day. They were a very creative group which played indoor games at lunchtime due to the bad weather.

Focus
We chose this focus because the candle represents that Jesus Christ is with us.

Music 
We picked 'What a wonderful World', its about loving others and taking care of the wonderful world that God gave us.
The song 'Fireworks' represents the light in us.

Scripture
Matthew (5:14-16) a light for the world. Jesus light is not just for one of us, he is for all of us. Everybody should be respected as much as others.

Reflection
We believe in Jesus and believe when we help one another we make a dream team.

Hi I'm Chloe from St James Primary School, I loved De La Salle Retreat, much better than sitting in class doing work. Even though I am not making my Confirmation, I still had lots of fun. I even got to design a poster (Dream Team) and a kite. We chose dream team because if we work together to help others we can create a Dream Team. Hope everyone enjoys it. Chloe at St James' PS

St Aidan's CBPS

Biting January cold brought hardy boys from St Aidan's to the pastoral centre. They were thoughtful boys, looking forward to their Confirmation and continuing to shine their light.

Focus
We used the cloths to make a candle to show the light and it represents peace. Our hands are round it because we are together.

Music
The boys sang 'Do not be afraid I am with you' from their Confirmation repertoire with great sincerity. They felt it shows how God is always with us, showing his love.

Scripture
The scripture Matthew (5:14-16) tells us not to be bad and make good choices. It doesn't matter if anyone laughs at you.

Prayers

Dear God

Please look after my nanny, 

please help her to stay out of any consequences

 in terms of any bad things.

Help all my family through all the challenges of life.

Amen

Dear God 

Bless my family.

Help my family in life through the future.

And bless everyone around me.

Reflection
We picked the title 'Dream Team', if we let our light shine we will work together peacefully.

Thursday 6th December '12

Focus
We made the word LOVE to show that Jesus loves us and we should love others, even if we don't like them.

Music

We picked 'You gotta friend in me', because when you have a good friendship, that person is always there for you.

We also chose 'Hero' because we can see a hero of God in each other.

Scripture

Love is patient 1Corinthians (13:4-7). We chose this because its about love and we love one another. God is patient and he loves us.

Focus
We chose to write 'God loves us' and we are special. We put the the boxes around it because it shows our love and special attitudes.

We chose 'Next to me' because we take care of others and 'Jar of hearts' was sung by a talented soloist.

Scripture

We picked the story of the Good Samaritan Luke (10: 30-37) because its to do with sectarianism and shows us how to help others.
