We were joined by Year 14 and Year 13 RE students from St Columbanus' College.

Music
'Let it be' was chosen, as we all like to have someone we can call on when we need a little help.
'Man in the mirror', we need to look at ourselves and change our ways before we can change others.
They made spirals exploring their image of God and its impact on their lives.
Scripture
The scripture used today was taken from
Mark (8:27-29) 'Who do you say I am?' Helping to discover who we really are and what image of ourselves we present to other people.
At the Prayer Service, each of the class was invited to think of someone they would like to pray for, write the name on a slip of paper and attach it to the Prayer Ring. This ring was sent back to school to be added to throughout the year.
Each person wrote a letter to themselves. These letters were to contain memories of today and hopes for the future, attitudes they would like to develop to help themselves and those around them. The letters will be sent to the school in the new year.

Yr 14
Music
We chose 'Firework' by Katie Perry because it represents the good times and the bad. At the end of all the bad there is always a light at the end of the tunnel.
'You gotta friend in me' was chosen because we're all mates and will be there for each other.
Scripture
We choose this scripture because everyone deserves a chance and we don't know why people are the way they are.
Prayers
Dear God
I would like to take a minute for those who are less fortunate,
especially coming up to Christmas as it is a time for giving,
by coming together as a community to raise money
to ensure the Third World countries have a happy Christmas.
Amen
Dear God
We pray for the happiness and joy of our classmates.
With your help we hope we can achieve everything we desire in life.
We pray that you guide us through the stressful period of our exams.
Amen
Dear God
We pray for our loved ones who are deceased but who we still
think of and cherish our memories we shared with them everyday.
Amen

'Love for enemies'

Prayers
Dear Lord
Thank you for being with us in our good and bad days.
Look over us and give us strength for our up coming exams and any difficult time we are facing.
We thank you for friends and family.
Amen
Dear Lord
You are the one who watches me fall and helps me to get back up.
When I feel or stand alone you are there and give me luck.
If I forget what you have done, know I will never turn my back.
For you are the Lord Almighty, you are the one who we adore.
If I ever question my faith, know I will believe in you.
Amen
Reflection
There's no point waiting on someone else to do something.
One kind word can make a difference.
